Greetings from Sandy Behrends
My name is Sandy Behrends and I am beginning my twenty-seventh year as a first grade teacher. This is my 34th year in the profession, twenty-nine of which have been in the Johnson-Brock System. I received my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education, with an additional endorsement in Special Education, from Peru State College. In 1987 I earned a Master's of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Nebraska.
Our class will be studying many new ideas this year. Each child will be provided a wealth of learning opportunities that will allow them to gain knowledge through experience, purpose, and active involvement. Throughout my years of teaching, I have committed to the importance of parent involvement in a student's education. I believe that a child receives the best education possible when you and I work as a team. I will be keeping in close touch with you all year long, especially through weekly newsletters. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at school or contact me via my e-mail at [email protected].
